Day 80 – Musicians On a Train

I’d like to arrange a performance piece that would involve musicians of an ensemble getting on a train a different stops.

A single member of the ensemble would be situated at each stop on the train line (or part of the line) and they’d all be playing the same piece, keeping in time with a synchronised group click-track. The piece of music may be fugue or choral so that each individual part would work ¬†independently. As the train stops at each station there would be a new musician of the ensemble standing playing their part ready to board the train. As the more musicians joined the train the more they would space themselves out, giving travellers on the train the chance to walk through the various musical parts. Once the train reaches the end of its line and goes back in the opposite direction the ensemble would reverse its formation with a single musician leaving at each stop.
