I’d like to create a sound installation that involves oyster cards and oyster card readers.
For a time, whenever you touch in or out of a station a short bit of music/sound is put onto your oyster card. What the music/sound is depends on the station you touch in and out of and perhaps what the time of the day is too. Dotted around main stations in London would be special oyster readers which when swiped would play back all the pieces of sound you’ve collected on your card. Once the music is played through one of the special readers it is wiped off your oyster card so you are free to fill it up with more sounds again. Everybody’s individual journeys would produce their own unique soundtracks.
